Once the winter triticale matures, we cut it exclusively by hand in several weeks. After that specialists carefully select the right heads by the shape and measuring of the required size. Then it is being dried under special conditions.
When it reaches the factory, dried triticale is being specially processed, sorted by hand, and delivered to the factory. Here we sort it by hand one more time and wash it with a mixture of ethyl alcohol and water. After that, one of our experts places the triticale in each bottle of vodka.
We use special triticale for Stumbras Vodka. It is thoroughly selected and cultivated by research scientists. They take the strength and thickness of the stalk and the size of the heads into account.
The exact triticale which we use for this vodka begins its journey in Lithuanian fields. It is being sown there in August or September. After withstanding the harsh winter followed by spring, it begins to grow and turns green.
